CELLAR SELECTION
Chateau la Nerthe continues its return to form with its 2020 Tradition, a remarkably high-quality wine considering the volumes made. It's grown on lieux-dits La Crau, Les Escondudes, La Nerthe and Les Reves on sandy soils and galets roules. Aged 75% in foudre, 25% in new barriques. The intriguing blend, and the parcel-by-parcel approach, has yielded a very complete, harmonious and balanced wine. It's closed for now, but has a good sense of freshness. Subtle damson hints, nicely tucked in and focussed on the palate with a distinctly saline finish. Drinking Window: 2022-2028.
Wine Tasting Notes
The nose of Andre Brunel Chateauneuf du Pape Les Cailloux Rouge is characterized by its cleanliness and elegance. It showcases the red fruits that are typical of Grenache, along with the pepper and spice notes contributed by Mourvedre and Syrah. On the palate, the spices become more prominent, complemented by a subtle touch of oak. In comparison to the classic Chateauneuf-du-Pape, this wine leans towards a fruit-driven profile. It reveals its savory side through a lingering finish. While it is already approachable, it also has the potential to further develop and evolve over the next five to eight years.
60% Grenache, 27% Mourvedre, 10% Syrah, 3% Cinsault
Alcohol 14.5%
