The 2018 Pinot Noir Drum Canyon Vineyard comes from the Sta. Rita Hills and saw the same 35% new French oak. It has a beautiful bouquet of sweet black raspberry, toasted spice, candied flowers, and a touch of salty minerality. These carry to a medium to full-bodied effort with beautiful purity of fruit, building tannins, and just terrific overall balance. It's another head-turning effort from this team that will evolve for over a decade. Drinking Window 2020-2031.

Rated 92
Bright, snappy aromas of baby strawberries and fresh raspberries meet with an earthy streak of crushed slate on the vibrant nose of this bottling. That playfulness tightens dramatically on the sip, where dry tannins grab hold before opening up toward cherry, pomegranate, loamy soil and more dark-slate elements.
Wine Tasting Notes
On the nose, aromas of bright red cherry and lush raspberry mix with lingering notes of cola and cigar. With hints of allspice and persimmon, this round, full-bodied Dierberg Drum Canyon Vineyard Santa Rita Hills Pinot Noir shows great acidity that would pair beautifully with seared duck breast and cherry glaze. The soft spiciness of safe lends to a long, elegant finish.
