Rated 92-94
The 2021 Zinfandel Cedarman is a blend of Dragon and Rattlesnake, with a touch of Petite Sirah. It is once again one of my favorite wines in this vast range. Dark and sumptuous, with great density, the 2021 dazzles right out of the gate. Black cherry, gravel and dried flowers are some of the many notes that inform this deep, flavorful Howell Mountain Zinfandel. The price? Ridiculous for this level of quality and pedigree. Drinking Window: 2025-2041. (Antonio Galloni, January 2023)
Wine Tasting Notes
Another triumphant return, this wine is a proprietary assemblage of fruit from the Dragon and Rattlesnake Ridge vineyards, all certified organic. Dark fruits, black pepper, meat marinade, and a smattering of blackberry and dried purple flowers. Densely flavorful and decidedly Howell Mountain in texture.
