Decanter Magazine Review
Rated 94
The flipside of the Seddon Single Vineyard, the Taylors Pass was grown in a sheltered site on the northern bank of the Awatere, and provides quite a fascinating contrast - the plusher velvet to the Seddons silk - while retaining the brightness and energy of the Awatere. Dark cherries, blackberry and damsons are layered over redder fruits, with green but not unripe herbal notes and dark chocolate. A concentrated core of fruit, sappy and slightly chewy tannins, plus good length. Drinking Window 2024-2030..
Wine Tasting Notes
Villa Maria Taylors Pass Vineyard Marlborough Pinot Noir is a single vineyard expression of the Taylors Pass site, showcasing an intense bouquet of ripe juicy raspberries and blueberries with hints of baking spices. A harmonious palate delivers mocha notes intermingled with red cherries, subtle dried herbs and finishes with velvety smooth tannins.
